Functional medicine for the menopause transition — without guesswork, HRT, or the standard script

Let’s work together

I work like a health detective

Most women arrive at my clinic having seen various other practitioners. They have been told their bloods are normal, they are oestrogen deficient, and the only real option is HRT. Many have stacks of supplements they try and try again.

It’s a confusing time because menopause arrives layered over the body and the life you already have, while being metabolically grounded in the prehistoric conditions it evolved in. My job as a health detective is to look deep into the metabolic shifts that menopause is taking you through — and find what is blocking them. I look at everything: where you are in the transition, the shape of your day, what you eat, when you sleep, what your gut is doing, what your nervous system has been carrying for decades — and I read the 54 blood test markers that I recommend each woman has, from a functional perspective. Then I join the dots between everything.

The work is finding where things are getting stuck — whether it’s your nutrition, your stress, inflammation, underlying infections or toxins — and untangling them, in the right order, so the metabolic shifts can fit together and the most exciting decades of your life can begin.

Stage 1

Submitted via secure portal

Map — before we meet at the first consultation

You’ll submit a 3-day food and lifestyle diary plus a detailed symptom history. I will review and cross-reference everything before our first session — so the 90 minutes we have together start at depth, not paperwork.

  • Detailed health and symptom history
  • Symptoms mapping questionnaire
  • 3-day food & lifestyle diary

Stage 2

90 minutes · Video call

Evaluate — first consultation

We identify how the three menopause shifts — Energy, Oestrogen, or Emotional — are interacting with your nutrition and lifestyle. I order standard bloods and, where indicated, advanced functional tests. You leave with a written, personalised protocol so that you can get started straight away.

  • Bloods: 54 markers including oestrogen, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, prolactin, SHBG, thyroid, iron, B12, vit D, blood sugar, liver,
  • Optional: DUTCH, PCR stool test, vaginal microbiome
  • Written protocol covering nutrition, supplements, lifestyle upgrades

Stage 3

Portal access + check-ins

Nourish — 4 to 12 weeks following your protocol

Your protocol is built around the shifts you are struggling with and the specific things blocking them. Every protocol is personalised, and it draws from three core pillars of clinical work.

You will start seeing results within the first 4 weeks.

  • Nutrition — blood sugar, anti-inflammatory, nutrient repletion
  • Gut & detox — liver support, microbiome, barrier repair
  • Stress & sleep — HPA support, nervous system regulation

Stage 4

45 minutes · Video call

Optimise — follow-ups every 4 weeks

Each follow-up reviews progress, interprets new results, and refines the plan. Most clients see meaningful change within 4 weeks and resolution patterns by 8–12 weeks. Portal check-ins between sessions are included.

We optimise, refine, and I will teach you to read your own body’s signals, so when our work together ends, you can confidently hold your health in your hands.

  • Symptom & energy review
  • Lab interpretation
  • Protocol refinement and progression

Morphosis

Stage 5

Your story, rewritten

Most approaches stop at symptom relief. But the MenoMorphosis Method goes further
— to the Morphosis itself: your personal transformation that becomes possible when your biological emergency ends.

When your energy is restored, you arrive at a version of yourself that is clearer, steadier, and more “solidly yourself” than you have been in decades. When the symptoms stop – when fuel switches cleanly, when local hormone production is restored, when the nervous system stops sounding the alarm – what emerges is not the woman you were before menopause. It is a clearer, steadier version of who you actually are.

This is the outcome my Method is built for.

When menopause isn’t the only thing going on

Specialist care for complex menopause histories

The MenoMorphosis Method is a universal framework, but it is particularly effective for women whose health history makes menopause more volatile. I have a deep clinical background in supporting these cases. I regularly work with women navigating menopause alongside:

Endometriosis, Adenomyosis & Fibroids

The tissues that produce their own oestrogen need to be quietened

PCOS

Insulin load and metabolic patterns set in years earlier make the transition harder

PMDD

The brain is unusually sensitive to hormonal change and needs deep nervous system support

Hashimoto’s and other autoimmune conditions

Thyroid, adrenal and gut function must be balanced as one system

In their own words

The results are stunning

My specialist peri-menopause plan
changed my whole health and mindset.

I came off HRT under Sandra’s guidance and I am calmer, clearer and stronger than I have been in a decade. This is what care should look like.

I’d recommend this approach to any woman — not as a diet, but as a way of rethinking how your body works, and how to fuel it properly.

Making sure we’re a match

Is this the right fit for you?

This is likely a good fit if you:
  • Want to understand the root cause of your symptoms
  • Are open to investigating nutrition, gut, hormones and stress
  • Are willing to make changes and to be guided through them
  • Want a clinician who works with without HRT
This is likely not the right fit if you:
  • Want a quick fix or a single supplement recommendation
  • Are looking for an HRT prescription
  • Prefer to follow generic protocols without testing
  • Are committed to a vegan or vegetarian diet
FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Menopause is not one event but three overlapping shifts in the body’s biology — Energy (fuel switching), Oestrogen (intracrine production), and Emotional (HPA axis and nervous system). Most women have a combination. The Evaluate stage is where I work out the drivers, so the plan targets the root, not the surface.

There is a real gap in the UK menopause landscape. The functional medicine doctors who specialise in menopause are all GPs who prescribe HRT alongside their functional protocols. The non-prescribing menopause specialists – nutritionists, dietitians, nutritional therapists – are not functional medicine practitioners. As far as I am aware, I am the only practitioner in the UK who is trained as a functional medicine practitioner, who works exclusively in menopause, and who works non-hormonally. The MenoMorphosis Method is the clinical framework I have developed over a decade of focused, non-prescribing work in this space.

Generic menopause nutrition is written for the average woman. Your plan is written for your biology – your shifts, your labs, your history, your constraints. The principles may overlap with what you have read, but the sequencing, the emphasis, and the detail are specific to you.

Supplements are matched to what your data shows you actually need – nutrient gaps, metabolic markers, gut findings, inflammatory signals. The aim is the smallest effective protocol, reviewed and adjusted as your body changes. The supplements I recommend are professional- grade and are usually sourced from professional online dispensaries.

A detailed written plan delivered through the client portal, covering nutritional, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations specific to your shift and your data. It is structured around the Three Pillars – Nutrition, Gut and detoxification, and Hormones-stress-sleep – sequenced so you know what to do first, what to add later, and what to expect at each stage.

You work with your plan, and track what changes – sleep, energy, symptoms, cycle if you still have one. I am available through the client portal for questions that come up between sessions. Follow-up – optimise -consultations are where we review what is working, refine what isn’t, and decide what to adjust.

Most women complete the core arc within 3 months – the initial Evaluate consultation, then 2-3 Optimise sessions spaced four weeks apart. Some women stay longer for more complex histories or because they want continued refinement. We work together until you achieve your goals.

We change it. Optimise consultations exist for exactly this – to look at what your body is doing in response to the plan and adjust. If something is not landing, that is information, not failure. The plan is iterative by design.

Yes, if that is what you want. Coming off HRT safely means preparing your biology for the transition first – supporting intracrine oestrogen production, metabolic resilience, and adrenal capacity – then tapering with your prescriber in a sequence your body can hold. I do not pressure women off HRT. I support the women who have decided they want to come off.

All consultations are online, by video, so you can work with me from anywhere in the UK or internationally. Booking is via my online calendar — Tuesdays to Fridays, 8-10am BST.
